While the current forecast track has the Bundaberg Region out of the direct path of Tropical Cyclone Alfred its movements remain uncertain and authorities are urging residents to remain vigilant and exercise caution in coastal areas.

The region is likely to experience severe coastal hazards today and into the weekend resulting from Tropical Cyclone Alfred. The LDMG has moved to Lean Forward.

Bundaberg Regional Council has successfully completed critical coastal protection works, including the demolition of the old Moore Park Beach Surf Life Saving Club (SLSC), in preparation for a king tide expected on Friday.

In this week's beach report Craig Holden says the weather situation for the weekend will be dependant on the movement of Cyclone Alfred.
