Local postcodes have been included in Australia Post’s list of areas impacted by delivery delays due to extreme weather across Queensland and New South Wales.

Residents in postcodes 4670 and 4671 are being reminded that flooding is currently affecting the ability to transport mail and parcels via air and road networks throughout the state and to expect delays.

“Local road closures, safety measures and access issues are also affecting deliveries in flood-affected areas with limited delivery to all of South-East Queensland and Northern NSW,” an Australia Post spokesperson said.

“The safety of our people and the community is our priority.”

According to Australia Post, tracked items are being scanned and will be delivered as quickly as possible once safe to do so.

Express Post and StarTrack Premium items are also being prioritised wherever possible.

“We will continue to provide updates as information becomes available,” a spokesperson said.

“Customers can continue to track their packages and get updates about impacts to the network online and through the Australia Post mobile app.”
