People with a small to medium-sized farming business interested in agritourism are encouraged to attend an upcoming agritourism development workshop.
The workshop, hosted by the Queensland Government, is taking place at Rowers on the River on Thursday 17 March from 8.30 am to 3.30 pm.
Agritourism is growing in Queensland, providing farmers with alternate income streams and farm visitors with great moments, memories, and experiences.
There’s plenty to consider in bringing an idea to life, such as the type of experience on offer, whether it be farm gate sales, pick-your-own fruit and veggies, animal interactions, farm-to-table dining, farmers markets, on-farm cooking classes, and farm tours.
In the facilitated one-day workshop, attendees can expect to:
- Share and explore ideas, identify opportunities and barriers, and gain an understanding of your regulatory obligations.
- Have any questions answered by other sucessful agritourism farmers who will also share their experiences
- Leave with an understanding of what’s required
- Leave with a 100-day plan with next steps mapped out
- Leave with new connections for shared experiences
The intention is to proceed with a face-to-face event, although plans are in place should a virtual workshop be needed.
To find out more, visit the workshop website, where you can take a two-minute self-assessment survey to make sure you’re workshop ready.
