Get hooked on action this weekend as the Bundaberg Powerboat Club Inc gears up for its Club Fun Day.
The five events will see competitors from across the state and northern New South Wales converge on Sandy Hook Ski Club this Sunday.
The family friendly event is also an open day for anyone interested in the amateur sport to go along and check it out.
Bundaberg Powerboat Club Vice President Craig Truslove said the day was a good opportunity for children to get involved in powerboat racing.
“The club will once again be having the Junior Development boats out over the lunch break,” Craig said.
Craig said children as young as 10 years old could give it a go.
“All you need is a parent to give you permission and full neck to toe clothing. We will supply a helmet and life jacket,” he said.
Competitors primed for Powerboat Fun Day
The boat motors will be primed and ready for competition and start racing from 10am.
“Competition will have eight classes of racing and include Open Inboards, Open Outboards, 850CC, Restricted Combo class, 25hp and a demonstration from our Formula Futures,” Craig said.
It will be the Bundaberg Powerboat Club’s last Fun Day before the major two-day Rum City Powerboat Classic, which will be held in late July.
It’s expected to be a day of action and fun on the water with free entry to the public.
If you are after something to do this weekend before the powerboats check out the BCC Festival on Saturday.
