A Sharon-based locksmith has turned his dream into reality after launching Profile Locksmiths, a mobile 24-hour locksmith service for the Bundaberg Region.
With 24 years of experience in the industry, Roy Chivers has always had a dream to own and operate his own business, now offering his expertise and experience as a locksmith to the region.
“I love helping customers with their security needs as well as the variety of work that comes with being a locksmith,” he said.
Through the use of one of the first portable battery powered key duplicators on the market, Roy’s service is able to be fully mobile.
“We have a fully mobile offering with a 24-hour emergency locksmith service, commercial and residential services, lock repairs and rekeying, key cutting and the sale and service of safes,” he said.
Roy said the time felt right for him to start the business this year after putting in the effort to upskill.
“I felt like it was the ideal time to start the business as I was in the position to make the dream of running my own business a reality, having invested time building my skillset up as a locksmith,” he said.
Roy said one of the major benefits of his work was the opportunity to be flexible.
“Being an owner and operator, I have the flexibility to provide a more personal service tailored to the customers individual needs,” he said.
While starting a business is a challenge in itself, Roy said he had already set himself goals for the next 12 months to steadily build his company within the region.
“My goals are to build a reputation for being honest, reliable and to provide an affordable service to the Bundaberg community,” he said.
As a corporate member of the Locksmith Guild of Australia, Roy said he was offered ongoing support for education within the profession.
Roy and his family haven’t looked back since moving to Sharon 14 years ago for the relaxed country lifestyle, and to raise his children close to the beach.
For all enquiries, Roy can be contacted on 0493 135 309, profilelocksmithsptyltd@gmail.com or via his Facebook page.
