This year has seen businesses challenged like never before. COVID-19 has made many of us, if not all, look at how we operate and adapt accordingly.
Businesses have needed to navigate through a quickly changing and challenging environment, at times just to survive.
The Bundaberg and District Chamber of Commerce is celebrating local business by recognising the positives that can be found in the past six months and looking with optimism into our shared future.
“It’s been a challenging year for many, and we just want to come together as a business community and celebrate our positives” said chamber president Tim Sayre.
The award process this year has been simplified and is an online application to be submitted by 4pm Friday, 30 October.
You can nominate your own business or acknowledge other businesses in the community.
Bundaberg Regional Council has partnered with the Bundaberg and District Chamber of Commerce as the platinum sponsor.
Mayor Jack Dempsey encouraged residents to show their support for local businesses by nominating them for Business Excellence Award.
“The Bundaberg Region business community is strong, a trait which has never before been so essential as it has been during this challenging times,” Mayor Dempsey said.
“Now more than ever they need our support, not just by buying local but taking the time to acknowledge their hard work and dedication to delivering essential services and products to our region.
“What better way to do that then recognising them with a Bundaberg and District Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Award.”
The Business Success Celebration Dinner will be held in early November, 6pm to 10pm over three venues (HSG @ the Gardens, The Club Hotel and H2O Bar and Grill) linked via Zoom.
“This event is very different to past awards dinners, due to COVID-19 restrictions, and all venues will be following their COVID-safe plans,” Tim said.
“Hosting this event at three venues has allowed us to support a number of businesses in an industry that has been doing it tough for the last six months. Join us in supporting them and enjoy a night out.”
