Bundaberg Art Society’s Miniature Exhibition is on again, with more than 70 artworks across a range of media and subjects available for purchase.

Society president Marilyn Batty said the Miniature Exhibition attracted a lot of interest each year due to the calibre of work from local artists.

“The miniature size (10cm x 10cm) is highly sought after by many art buyers, as it fits nicely in most spaces. There will be plenty of little gems to discover this year,” Mrs Batty said.

“Miniatures make excellent gifts and are more easily posted.”

Mrs Batty said guests to the gallery were often surprised by the level of skill and detail in such a small format.

“Artists still consider the composition, tone and light and, yet, the artworks can be more affordable due to lower material and framing costs.”

The exhibition is open to the public 9am to 3pm Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays until April 16 at Hazzard Gallery (95c Walker Street). Private viewings are also available for community and school groups by contacting Marilyn on 07 4154 3198.

When the exhibition concludes, the gift store at Hazzard Gallery remains open to the public Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturday 9am to noon. Visitors can also see local artists at work in the workshop.
