A group of young business people are getting together to help each other grow personally and professionally and to promote opportunities in the Bundaberg Region.
The Bundaberg Young Business Professionals Network held its second gathering last week with the aim to strengthen the bonds between the community and help expand local businesses.
With a focus on filling a gap in the region’s business community, the BYBP is geared toward those aged 18 to 41 who may be early in their career or just completing university and interested in networking.
The group hopes to engage young professionals who are interested in developing their skill sets, interacting in fun and meaningful ways and making a lasting impact in the community
Learn from each other
Partner at Neilson and Co Wealth Ben Neilson attended last week’s event and said it was a refreshing reminder that there were plenty of like-minded individuals willing and actively looking to grow.
“I hope it creates a more aware community in which ideas and challenges can be faced in a collaborative manner using many different positions, perceptions and minds,” he said.
“We may use it to learn and appreciate each other ultimately leading us to support one another and improve the infrastructure of small business in 4670.”
Mr Neilson said for those wanting to push ahead with a successful career, the region provided many opportunities for growth.
“Being in the financial sphere we’re living in a very cost effective part of the world, life is cheap, rent and the cost of living is cheap, many different natural occurrence available, be it nature, the sea, agri cane, macadamias take your pick,” he said.
“It’s the perfect petri dish on which to cultivate, nurture and raise your dream.”
The next Bundaberg Young Business Professionals Network will be held at The Queenslander Hotel on 18 April from 6pm.
