A development proposal has been lodged for a new tavern featuring a beer garden and bottle shop at Bargara Central.
The application, received by Bundaberg Regional Council on behalf of Stockwell Development Group Pty Ltd, involve a material change of use to Lot 22 at 699 and 707 Bargara Road.
If approved, the development will be located in front of the Bargara Central shopping complex.
Council’s development and portfolio spokesperson Cr Ross Sommerfeld said the application outlined plans for a tavern, bottle shop and associated additional onsite car parking in the area.
“The Bargara Central tavern is proposed to have a floor area of 800 square metres and will comprise a sports bar, bistro, gaming area, kitchen and amenities and a 200 square metre covered outdoor beer garden,” he said.
“The bottle shop will have a floor area of 400 square metres and will include a drive-through area.
“If the development is approved, it will provide 19 additional car parking spaces to the Bargara Central shopping area.
“This will boost the overall number to 403 spaces.”
Cr Sommerfeld said the Bargara Central tavern application was still in its very early stages with a number of matters to be considered before a decision could be made.
