Sweet Potatoes Australia is showcasing delicious Bundaberg Region produce at the world’s largest annual food and beverage trade exhibition in Dubai.
Sweet Potatoes Australia are at Gulfood 2020 as part of the Taste Australia exhibition, with their booth showcasing local produce and products at the international platform and export marketplace.
Marketing manager Hannah Jacobs said it’s an exciting event for the team to be part of.
“We make the most of every opportunity to show people just how versatile the humble sweet potato is and how easy it is to incorporate into everyday cooking,” Hannah said.
Sweet samples at Gulfood 2020
“Our team in Dubai are offering sample tastings and handing out recipe books to visitors at the Taste Australia site, as well as showing a selection of recipe videos.
They are also giving away sweet potato fudge made by Bundaberg’s own Cha Cha Chocolate.
“The fudge we sent over for Gulfoods ran out on day one.
“It was so popular with customers and they received positive reactions and feedback from people after they tried it.”
This is not the first time Sweet Potatoes Australia have taken Cha Cha Chocolate’s Sweet Potato Fudge overseas.
In September last year the Bundaberg company attended Asia Fruit Logistica in Hong Kong where the sweet potato fudge was an instant hit and ran out quickly.
“Being based in Bundaberg, it is important to us to support other local businesses in our area,” Hannah said.
“We value working with Melanice from Cha Cha Chocolate to create the sweet potato fudge and will continue to order it regularly as part of our marketing and promotional merchandise.”
Melanice said it has been an adventure.
Fudge proves popular
“When Sweet Potatoes Australia asked me to make the fudge I have to admit I was a bit sceptical, but as soon as I started making it I knew it was going to work,” Melanice said.
“I won’t give away how it’s made or what is added but let’s say when it’s cooking it smells amazing.
“It is now a very popular fudge flavour in the shop and at markets.
“When we were asked to make the fudge for Gulfood I was so proud and excited to think our product would be on display alongside an amazing company like Sweet Potatoes Australia.”
The good news is you don’t have to go to Dubai to taste sweet potato fudge.
Sweet Potatoes Australia include the sweet potato fudge in their promotional packs handed out at site tours, when new employees start and at all of their marketing events.
And it’s available for everyone to buy at Cha Cha Chocolate in Targo Street and online.
