Bundaberg’s highly competitive T20 tournament will culminate in a grand final showdown between Takalvans Taipans and Searles RV Vikings tonight.

The teams have met twice in the inaugural Aussie Home Loans T20 Premier League and the Taipans have come out on top in both cases.

Bundaberg Cricket Association treasurer Shaun Rose said crowds could expect a high standard of cricket at tonight’s game.

“The Taipans will go in as favourites but obviously the Vikings will want to knock them off,” Shaun said.

“Both sides are keen to be the inaugural winners.”

Some of the players involved in the grand final were part of the Bundaberg Invitational XI which defeated the Bulls Masters last weekend.

Shaun said the standard of cricket played in the competition had created more interest in cricket among players and spectators alike.

“It’s the most competitive A grade competition the association has seen in a long time.

“It’s been really well attended, we’ve have average crowds of between 500 and 1000.”

The game kicks off at Salter Oval at 6.30 pm tonight and entry is free.

There will be plenty of fun for the whole family with a best dressed supporter competition, lucky door prizes and a hit the stump competition.
