The campground at Lady Musgrave Island will be closed for construction works from 14-25 October 2019.
The Department of Environment and Science says the popular campsite in Capricornia Cays National Park is being revitalised to enhance the visitor experience and protect significant nesting habitat for sea birds and marine turtles.
The works will replace the existing pedestrian fence which surrounds the campground.
During this time, access to Lady Musgrave Island campground will be closed for construction works, public safety and to enable the storage of materials, plant and equipment.
The Department says alternative campsites are available on Mast Head Island, North West Island and various Keppel Bay islands.
The closure won’t impact on day trips to the island.
