Local food vendors have an opportunity to submit a tender to provide refreshments to beachgoers at Kellys Beach from Crawford Park.
The Crawford Park Food Van tender has been released and offers a prime location at one of the region’s most popular beaches.
Parks and gardens portfolio spokesman Cr Wayne Honor said the food van arrangement had been in place since 2008.
“Over that time many swimmers, walkers or people there just to enjoy the incredible view have enjoyed the food and drink available from our successful tenderer,” Cr Honor said.
“There is no doubt that Kellys Beach and the Crawford Park area is one of the most popular destinations for visitors and residents.
“The availability of the food van really adds to this area given that there are no businesses offering this service within easy walking distance.”

What would the cost of having a food van or two in these park areas? Personally I would rather have seen the Council build a kiosk and then lease it out rather than our foreshore look like a showground.
