There is now even more reason to embrace Open House Bundaberg with an all-new photography competition in place to capture the event through the eyes of the community.

Bundaberg Regional Council community and cultural services portfolio spokesperson Cr Judy Peters said the competition was a fantastic addition to the local event, providing a wonderful opportunity to increase community engagement.

“Connor O’Meara Solicitors have come on board to sponsor a cash prize for both the overall open and junior division winners,” Cr Peters said.

“Both divisions will encourage entrants to showcase their creative strengths through four categories including interior, exterior, detail and people.

“An independent judging panel will have the hard task of choosing the two winning entries from the day.”

Whether you sport a DSLR camera or like to get creative with your phone; zoom into buildings, focus on architecture and capture the $500 cash prize (open) or $200 (junior) by visiting any buildings involved on Saturday, 24 August 2019.

Planning and development spokesperson Cr Ross Sommerfeld said the event was a great opportunity to see some of Bundaberg’s iconic architecture.

“Our region has many stand-out buildings that are unique in design,” he said.

“The properties on show are sure to provide many interesting angles to appeal to the artistic side of the attendees.

“An online map will be made available to assist people with planning their architectural journey around Bundaberg.

“Enjoy a day out with your family or maybe just your camera as you take in the stories behind some of the iconic buildings of the Bundaberg Region.”
