COMPETITION
Nomination sheets for the 2025 Championship Singles, Pairs and Fours as well as the Mixed Pairs are on the Noticeboard with some games being called in January. Nominations for the Fours closes on Tuesday the 14th of January with Round 1 being played on Saturday the 18th of January and Round 2 being played on Saturday the 1st of February.
Nominations for the Championship Singles, Pairs and Mixed Pairs will close on Saturday the 18th of January, so please start organising your teams and nominate on the sheets provided.
SOCIAL BOWLS EVENTS
Visitors are most welcome on all playing days. Entry sheets are at the club or phone the Club on 41514217 during opening hours. If you cannot get through to the club number regarding bowls, then please phone 0403531304.
Tuesday 14th January: 50/50 Day – where 50 percent of the green fees for the day is returned as prizemoney. 3 Bowl Pairs (27ends) Men’s, Ladies, Mixed. Names in by 12pm, green fees paid by 12.30pm for a 1 pm start.
Thursday 16th January: Night Bowls – names in by 6.00pm ready for a 6.30pm start. Anyone wishing to try Bowls for the first time will be most welcome. Great way to beat the heat and to meet new people. The ‘Pick the Joker’ Jackpot is played each week, with this week’s Jackpot being $749+
Friday 17th January: Open Pairs – Men’s, Ladies, Mixed. Names in by 12pm, green fees paid by 12.30pm for a 1 pm start.
Saturday 18th January: Round 1 of the Men’s Championship Fours. Otherwise, social play being Open Pairs – Men’s, Ladies, Mixed. Names in by 12pm, green fees paid by 12.30pm for a 1 pm start.
COMING EVENTS
Sunday 26th January: AUSTRALIA DAY OPEN PAIRS – 2 games of 14 ends (3 bowl Pairs) 1.00pm start. Winners $360, 2nd $260, 3rd $200. Highest margin game 1 – $150, Highest margin game 2 – $150, Lucky loser card game 1 – $150, Lucky loser card game 2 – $150. Entry fee: $40 per team (includes sausage sizzle for afternoon tea). Sunday 26th January: In conjunction with the Open Pairs, there will be SOCIAL play commencing at 1.00pm. This will be Pairs or Triples depending on nominations received. Open to all bowlers regardless of ability level. Green fees will be $13 which also includes the sausage sizzle at afternoon tea. Prizes will be awarded for the lucky winners. Nominate on the sheet at the Club or phone the Club on 41514217 during opening hours.

CLUB NEWS
Club opening hours are – Monday (Club closed), Tuesday 10am – 5.30pm, Wednesday 11am – 6pm, Thursday 2pm – 9pm, Friday 10am – 9pm, Saturday 10am – 6pm (10pm for Functions) Sunday Bowls Days 9am – 2pm.
Friday 17th January – the Goose Club raffle will be drawn at 7.00pm – tickets are $1 each with 15+ prizes to be won. Tickets can be purchased from the bar or bought on the night. The members draw will be conducted after the Goose Club draw and is currently $310 – members must be present at the draw to claim the cash. Live entertainment on Friday evening will be provided by ‘The Other Bloke’. So come down to the Club for a great night out with the chance to win some cash and raffle prizes.

Several pairs dropped out thinking the weather would be against us, but not to be we played the whole afternoon out, some of us making our full quota of 21 ends!
