Just six months after opening its doors, Sexie Coffie has been crowned Bundaberg’s Café of the Year in The Coffee Commune’s 2024 Best Café Awards.
The Coffee Commune is a network of partners and members from across the coffee industry and its annual awards allow customers from a range of regions to vote for their favourite café in their postcode.
Bundaberg’s top ten for 2024 were voted as:

- Mack and Lulu Speciality Coffee House
- The Pocket Storehouse
- The Urban Dragonfly Espresso Bar
- Gin Gin Bakery
- Beasty Beans Café
- Yellow Monkey Coffee
- Old Mill Store
- River Cruz Café
Located at 269 Bourbong Street, Sexie Coffie is one of the largest independently owned cafés in the region, employing over 20 team members and with a focus innovation and customer service.
Director Shane McGibbon said Sexie Coffie was proud to be a vital part of the local economy.
“Our team is the heart of what we do,” Shane said.
“Their enthusiasm and commitment to excellence are what make Sexie Coffie such a special place.
“This award is a testament to their hard work and the support we’ve received from the Bundaberg community.”
Shane said the café’s commitment to giving back extended beyond its team, actively supporting local suppliers and community initiatives to ensure its success was shared across the region.
