After the success of last year’s Christmas event, A Moore Park Beach Christmas promises to deliver “moore” fun for all.
The afternoon affair is a free family event full of entertainment, markets, Christmas activities and fireworks.
Those looking for a Christmas gift (or treat for themselves!) will be spoilt for choice, with over 100 Christmas market stalls, plus 20 food and coffee stalls, to satisfy all tastes and appetites.
Entertainment includes some of the region’s most popular performers, including Dani Robert, Amy Alice, Short Straws, Redhead Productions and 2EZ.
The Moore Park Beach Christmas Choir, sponsored by Moore Park Beach Pharmacy featuring adults and school children who have been rehearsing for many weeks, will be on at 6 pm.
Beachgoers will also be able to join in the fun, with a sand modelling competition, with great prizes from Domino’s Pizza and Relay for Life.
There will be plenty of activities for the kids on the oval too, including a petting zoo and Funny Bunnies; and camel rides for all the family.
Of course, it wouldn’t be A Moore Park Beach Christmas without a visit from Santa and this year promises to be lots of fun, with Santa arriving on the Moore Park Beach Rural Fire Brigade truck, with lollies for the kids.
There’ll be 500 free candles, thanks to Battery World and Santa’s Grotto for family photos.
There’ll be a giant raffle on the day and free songbooks for everyone to join in with the Christmas Choir; or you can download the Christmas songs here.
The fun starts at 4 pm, Sunday 15 December on the oval behind Moore Park Beach Community Centre.
Bring your picnic blanket and settle in for a wonderful afternoon and evening, culminating in fireworks sponsored by Moore Park Beach Tavern at 8 pm.
The Christmas event is a collaboration between Moore Park Beach Arts Inc and Moore Park Beach Community Association and sponsored by Moore Park Beach Pharmacy, Moore Park Beach Tavern and Stephen Bennett MP, with in-kind sponsorship from Battery World and Moore Park Beach Rural Fire Brigade.
