Kids car seat safety event in Bundaberg

A free car seat safety check event will soon be held in Bundaberg, providing parents and carers with peace of mind regarding the safety of their little ones on the road.

Kids in Safe Seats will conduct free child car seat safety checks on Saturday 2 November, providing parents and carers with peace of mind regarding the safety of their little ones on the road.

Since its launch in Bundaberg on 6 March 2024, the Kids in Safe Seats (KiSS) Program has
been committed to enhancing the safety of children in vehicles.

Offering expert car seat fittings and hire services, KiSS has quickly become a trusted resource for parents and carers in the region.

Now, the program is expanding its impact further with a special Free Car Seat Safety Check Event taking place on Saturday, November 2, from 8:30am to 11am at 234 Bourbong Street, Bundaberg.

This event is proudly sponsored by First National Real Estate, reflecting their dedication to supporting community safety initiatives.

“At KiSS, our top priority is ensuring that children travel safely,” Angela Twyford, co-founder of Wide Bay Kids and KiSS, said.

“We understand that proper car seat installation is critical to preventing injuries in the event of an accident.

That’s why events like this are so important—they allow parents and carers to gain peace of mind, knowing their child’s seat is correctly installed and meets all safety standards.”

The upcoming event is part of KiSS’s broader mission to provide comprehensive car seat
safety education and installation services across the Hinkler region.

Parents, grandparents, and carers are encouraged to attend, as trained professionals will be on-site to offer personalised assessments and guidance.

These experts will inspect, adjust, and install car seats to ensure they meet Australian standards and provide optimal protection for children.

Additionally, information will be available on how to choose the right car seat for each age and stage, how to adjust harnesses for a proper fit, and tips for ensuring long-term safety.

“We know that even small adjustments to car seats can make a big difference in how well
they protect children,” Angela said.

“That’s why it’s crucial for parents and carers to have access to professional advice and support.

This event is a great opportunity to not only check the safety of your current setup but also learn more about car seat safety best practices.”

KiSS is able to offer this free event through the generous sponsorship from local business
First National Real Estate.

This initiative enables KiSS to provide free child car seat checks at the event on 2 November.

The ongoing support ensures that parents and carers in Bundaberg and surrounding areas can access expert help, reducing barriers to compliance and making safety a shared responsibility.

Parents and carers are encouraged to mark their calendars for 2 November, as the Free Car
Seat Safety Check Event promises to be an informative and beneficial experience for all
attendees.

Whether it’s a routine safety check, help with a newly installed seat, or simply peace of mind, the KiSS team and First National Real Estate are here to support local
families in keeping their children safe on the road.
