The RSL Bundaberg Sub-Branch has announced a significant change in the management of the RSL Club which will result in benefits for local Veterans.
Following the recent announcement of the current tenant concluding their lease in December 2024, a Special General Meeting was convened on 26 August at the Veteran Support Centre to determine the club’s future direction.
After careful consideration of all tenders received, a unanimous decision was reached by the members of the RSL Bundaberg Sub-Branch that ZS Hospitality Solutions will be appointed as the Management Rights company of the Club on Quay St, Bundaberg, commencing 2025.
“This decision marks a pivotal moment for our Veteran community,” President of the RSL Bundaberg Sub-Branch Luke Harding said.
“By appointing a manager instead of leasing the building, the RSL Bundaberg Sub-Branch, and by extension, local Veterans and their families, will directly benefit from the additional revenue generated by the club.”
The additional funding will enable the RSL Bundaberg Sub-Branch to further its mission of Veteran support, guided by the core principles of Care, Commemoration, and Camaraderie as set forth by the Returned Services League of Australia.
The RSL Bundaberg Sub-Branch plans to reinvest the club’s revenue into critical Veteran support initiatives, including:
- Enhancing mental health and social support programs
- Improving advocacy and wellbeing services
- Expanding educational initiatives and commemorative events
- Providing more comprehensive welfare assistance
It marks a new era for the RSL Bundaberg Sub-Branch.
With the new structure, the Sub-Branch plans to execute broader community initiatives.
“With our initial financial forecasting, we anticipate developing programs aimed at benefiting the entire community such as school scholarships, local sporting club initiatives, school programs, and more,” Treasurer Phil Bettiens CSM said.
The RSL Bundaberg Sub-Branch remains committed to its core mission of honouring and supporting those who have served or are currently serving our nation.
This new management strategy is a testament to that dedication.
“We look forward to a bright future, strengthened by our ability to serve both our Veterans and the wider community,” President Luke Harding concluded.
I am a social member of the club. Will this continue or will I need to apply for new type of membership?
