Prepare to embark on a whimsical journey as award-winning performer Jens Altheimer brings his latest creation, WHALEBONE, to the Moncrieff Entertainment Centre this August.
This family-friendly show combines contraptions, robotics, video animations, and a touch of circus to deliver an unforgettable theatrical experience.
WHALEBONE explores the importance of safeguarding precious stories and memories for future generations in a world where artificial intelligence is becoming more and more part of our lives.
Audiences are transported to the ‘Depository’, a unique place full of mysterious machinery where a solitary worker extracts the hidden stories that live in discarded objects and safeguards them for future generations.
This strange and wondrous world starts to fall apart when it is under attack by a rogue A.I. who tries to install a malicious bug and only two unlikely buddies can save the ‘Depository’ and its stories.
Telling a tale full of magic and action, WHALEBONE is funny, intriguing and touching.
It opens the door to a wondrous place where the future of humanity is under scrutiny.
Devised and performed by the imaginative mind of clown, tinkerer, inventor and comedian Jens Altheimer, winner of the Adelaide Fringe Award for Best Production for Children with Squaring the Wheel and nominated for the same award with Loose Ends.
Don’t miss the chance to experience this fantastical adventure that highlights the power of human stories in a time when A.I. is stepping into the spotlight.
