Childers Festival lineup hits all the right notes

Iconic rock band Dragon will headline the Childers Festival musical lineup this year, taking to the Crescent Street Stage at noon on Sunday 28 July.

Visitors to Childers Festival Day won’t miss a beat on Sunday 28 July with a pitch perfect lineup of live music across multiple stages and roving the streets.

All eyes and ears will be on the Crescent Street Stage at noon where headline act Dragon will treat crowds to a musical mashup of its iconic rock anthems.

Fans can enjoy cult classics from the depths of the band’s setlists as well as familiar favourites like April Sun in Cuba, Are You Old Enough, Wilder World and Rain.

The Crescent Street Stage will also see award-wining quartet Bondi Cigars performing a distinctive mix of blues, soul, funk and R‘n’B from 11 am, followed later by the best in Celtic music when Murphy’s Pigs take to the stage at 1.45 pm.

Folk music fans should make sure not to miss Austin Mackay on the Crescent Street Stage at 10 am as well as Those Folk which will bring rich harmonies and instrumentals to the Paverock Quarry Stage at 11 am.

Childers Festival Day will also celebrate the best in local music with seasoned guitarist Ben Spargo opening the Paverock Quarry Stage followed by soulful singer Troy Baubaras who is donating his performance fee to Bundaberg Legacy.

The NAB Stage will also feature young talent from the region with singersongwriters Keely Ellen, Stella Hutchins and Marah Leigh.

Finally, look out for the larger-than-life brass collective the Hot Potato Band who will be charming the crowds as they rove the festival with its energetic brand of interactive music.
