Get creative at Childers Neighbourhood Centre

Childers Neighbourhood Centre July creative
Community members who would like to contribute their creativity for a good cause are invited to take part in the yarnbombing event and learn to knit or crochet by attending the Stitch and Chat event on 22 July at the Childers Neighbourhood Centre.

A community open day, painting in the park event to create wellness, and yarnbombing creativity to support a good cause are just some of the events locals can take part in at the Childers Neighbourhood Centre in July.

Bundaberg Regional Council Community and Resilience and Connections portfolio spokesperson Cr Tracey McPhee said residents were encouraged to take the opportunity to find out what’s happening in Childers through one of the events during July.

“Childers Neighbourhood Centre is gearing up for an exciting July with a diverse line up of events aimed at bringing the community together in creative and meaningful ways,” Cr McPhee said.

“Kicking off the events on 9 July is the Neighbourhood Centre Open Day, where community members can enjoy a morning tea and check out the newly refurbished centre.

“This event invites families and individuals to explore all that the neighbourhood centre has to offer.

“From informative sessions on local services to interactive workshops the Childers Neighbourhood Centre invites the community to come along and help celebrate connectiveness.”

Painting in the Park

Back by popular demand, the Painting in the Park event returns on Tuesday 23July to help create wellness within the community.

Painting in the Park will have friends and families come together for inspiration, providing a blank canvas for those who wish to express themselves or a paint by numbers for those who may not know where to begin or just wish to enjoy the tranquillity of the day.

Yarnbombing for Daffodil Day

Community members who would like to contribute their creativity for a good cause are invited to take part in the yarnbombing event and learn to knit or crochet by attending the Stitch and Chat event on 22 July at the Childers Neighbourhood Centre.

The knitted and crocheted squares, or lengths, will support for Daffodil Day in August.

If you have any questions or would like to book in for any events, contact the Childers Neighbourhood Centre on 4130 4690.
