Budding entrepreneur and local florist Kristin Mae Anderson has opened the doors at her brand new floral boutique Posy Mae.
A well-known face at local markets with her custom cart Kristin has also provided floristry for weddings and events, but now has expended to have her own shopfront where she can stock flowers weekly.
Kristin said her floral style was whimsical and feminine as well as eco-friendly, using seasonal flowers sourced in Queensland, with all green waste composted to reuse in her garden at home.
“I first fell in love with flowers when I’d visit my nan’s garden as a little girl,” Kristin said.
“Last year I was studying nursing but wanted to follow my dream of becoming a florist.
“My mum gifted me a floral workshop in Tenterfield [and] this inspired me to jump feet first into floristry.”
Having started her business from home Kristin said she soon saw the need to expand with plans to offer even more in the future.
“I needed a creative space to showcase my floral creations and my business had outgrown my home office,” she said.
“I offer flowers for everyday and life’s most special occasions including weddings.
“We will be offering workshops and boutique hampers in the near future.”
Posy Mae is located at 55 Walla Street, Bundaberg.
