The inaugural Lighthouse Country music festival was a huge success with almost 9,000 people attending the two-day event in Burnett Heads at the weekend.
Country music legends including Lee Kernaghan, Adam Harvey, Beccy Cole, and Travis Collins delighted the crowds on Saturday, before Casey Barnes and Adam Brand rounded out the festival on Sunday.
Hometown favourites including Mark Lavender, Keely Ellen and Craig Lamond also ensured the sea of country music lovers were entertained.
The Lighthouse Country music festival comes after the success of Lighthouse Rock in October 2022 and is the brainchild of director Gavin Hales and the Lighthouse Presents team.
Gavin described the atmosphere at the weekend’s event as sensational, stating it would “definitely return”.
“I couldn’t be happier with the turnout,” he said.
“From the production team to volunteers and staff through to the performers, it was a fantastic event.
“Lighthouse Country had so much support and success, so, it’s a no brainer we will do it again.”
Gavin said each of the country music acts were fantastic and there were a number of highlights including the performance by Casey Barnes.
“Casey Barnes was exceptional,” Gavin said.
“Casey has won Arias and Golden Guitars, you name it he is winning it, and it really shows why after seeing him on stage performing.
“When he got off stage he said, ‘this is the best show I’ve done all year’, so to hear that it’s really fantastic.”
Almost 9,000 tickets were sold for the inaugural Lighthouse Country Festival, and Gavin thanked the crowd for making it an incredible experience.
“The performers were all feeding off the crowd and the atmosphere – it was fantastic,” he said.
“It was a pleasure to work with all the artists, they were each all so humble and said they loved being here and that reflects on the audience.
“Lee Kernaghan was next level and showed his gratitude on stage and again backstage.
“Everything from the show, the stage, the sound – it was all very professional.
“We’re of the high opinion that we will do it all again for sure.”
