Encore Dance Studio dancers are getting festive as they prepare for the upcoming annual concert as well as their roles in Bundaberg Regional Council’s Christmas program.
Not only will the dance studio perform at the Moncrieff Entertainment Centre on Saturday 3 December but they will also make appearances at a number of Council events, including Merry and Bright and Twinkle Town.
Encore Dance Studio Principal Penny Curd said the community could expect an even bigger performance at this year’s Merry and Bright event.
“For the last few years Encore Dance Studio students have played the role of the beautiful nutcracker soldiers that you see at many Council Christmas events,” Penny said.
“This year Merry and Bright will be even bigger, with more colourful characters and costumes roving among the fantastic lights in the gardens.
“It’s such an exciting time of year for families to be able to experience the fabulous Christmas events on offer.
“Our dancers really love being a part of the celebrations especially the magic of the Christmas lights at Merry and Bright.”
Dance concert set to entertain
The Encore dance concert, to be held on Saturday 3 December, is set to take attendees on a journey into Disney’s Beauty and The Beast.
“Our high-energy hip-hop collaboration will have you moving in your seats along with a little toe tapping from Devil Went Down to Georgia.” Penny said.
“Enjoy some of the best from Queen and our contemporary creations which are always a crowd favourite.
“I really try to make our concerts about entertainment, so even if someone is not directly involved in Encore they will still enjoy the show.
“Our music, choreography and costumes create something that all ages can enjoy with everything from tap, jazz and classical ballet to hip hop, contemporary and musical theatre.
“We have over 500 amazing costumes that will make the show spectacular.”
The show has two sittings, one at 12.30 pm and one at 6 pm.
Tickets for the concert are available here.
