Grand final day in Gin Gin last week saw the Hawkettes ice an unbeaten premiership and back-to-back titles in the Women’s League Tag decider.
Ruby Tobin, who grabbed two tries and converted both just like she did in their Major Semi-final demolition of the Marlins two weeks earlier, was a deserved winner of the Player of the Grand Final.
Her elder brother Sam is a key man in the Waves Tigers team which will take on Hervey Bay Seagulls in the Bundaberg Broadcasters A Grade Premiership Preliminary Final at Salter Oval at 3.30 pm tomorrow.
Earlier, Wests Panthers will meet Easts Magpies in the Reserve Grade Preliminary Final at 1.30 pm.
Junior semi-finals will also be played at Salter Oval this Sunday as follows:

Across The Waves Eagles must do what no other team has done all year, beat the all-conquering Hervey Bay Bombers in their AFL Wide Bay Marquis Macadamias Senior Premiership last round clash at NE McLean Oval tomorrow, and rely on Bay Power losing to
Brothers Bulldogs, if they are to reclaim third place on the ladder and a semi-final berth.
Meanwhile, the Bulldogs will be keen for a good win at Keith Dunne Oval, ahead of a probable semi-final rematch with the Power next week.
Football
Fourth placed Bingera must beat Doon Villa in their Football Queensland Premier League Wide Bay Men’s last-round clash at Villa Park tomorrow in order to clinch a place in the finals.
If they lose, United Park Eagles (UPE) will be able to pilfer fourth position from them if they can beat second seeds KSS Jets at Hervey Bay Sports Complex tomorrow and also get the points against Doon Villa in their deferred duel next Sunday.
There are also two games in Bundaberg tomorrow at 6pm, with confirmed League champions Across The Waves hosting Granville, and the improved SC Corinthians taking on third placed Fraser Flames at Martens Oval.
Hockey
Confirmed Bundaberg Division 1 Women’s Minor Premiers Raiders/Rovers will warm up for the finals when they clash sticks with All Blacks in a last-round showdown at Hinkler Park at 6.20pm.
The other Women’s clash will be at 4.40pm tomorrow with Waves/Cities opposed to Arrows/Athletics.
The Men’s matches are all tomorrow, with Cities II taking on Raiders/Rovers at 2pm, followed by Cities I v All Blacks II at 3.20pm, and Arrows v All Blacks I at 6pm.
Netball
Finals get under way in the Bundaberg Warren Family Premierships across all competitions at the Superpark tomorrow, and in Division 1, minor premiers and back-to-back champions Waves Gold will meet Brothers Hurricanes in the Major Semi-final at 6.30pm.
At the same time, there will be no second chances for Natives Aim Hearing Magpies and Alloway Blue in their Minor Semi-final shoot-out.
Horse Racing
Bundaberg trainers Gary Clem and Mary Hassam were among the winners at the Gladstone meeting on Saturday with the former taking out the Maiden with Jamesatelli, and the latter successful with Daunting Princess in the Benchmark 60 Handicap.
Former Victorian Jamesatelli was having his third start for Gary after running third at Mornington on December 21, second at Moe on January 18, and fourth at Werribee on February 4, before heading north.
Daunting Princess completed a hat-trick of wins after getting the money at Thangool on July 16 and on her home track one week later.
