The B grade Fours now has 4 teams, and the draw is on the Boards.
Competition Results
Mixed Pairs Semi-Finals: Julie Whalley, Keith Whalley def Kaz Ibels, Geoff Gill 19-11 & Sue Petterson, Mark Mizzi def Annette Goldsworthy, Cal Toft 21-8.
Mixed Pairs FINAL: Congratulations to Keith and Julie Whalley for winning the Mixed Pairs Final.
They defeated Sue Petterson and Mark Mizzi 20-17 in a close hard-fought game.
Sue & Mark led 14-13 after 15 ends, however lost the next 4 ends to trail 20-14 with only 2 ends remaining.
The gap in the score was too big to overcome.
Well played to all involved.
The District playoffs for the Mixed Pairs is on this Sunday (13th April) at a venue yet to be announced.
The winners of the District playoff will advance to the zone playoffs later next month with the winners of the zone advancing to the State Playoffs at the end of the year.

WIDE BAY BOWLS CLASSIC (WBBC)
Burnett was defeated by Bargara 3 rinks to 2.
Well done to the Burnett Men’s Pairs and Men’s Fours for winning their respective rinks.
The Mixed Fours team went down by 1 shot in a close hard-fought game.
This Saturday will be the round 4 ‘catch up’ game Vs Urangan.
Burnett will need to win this game to have a chance of making the playoffs.
Good luck and good bowls to all selected players.
Teams will be posted on the Noticeboard on Tuesday.

CLUB NEWS
Club opening hours are – Monday (Club closed), Tuesday 10am – 5.30pm, Wednesday 11am – 9pm, Thursday 2pm – 9pm, Friday 10am – 9pm, Saturday 10am – 6pm (10pm for Functions) Sunday Bowls Days 9am – 2pm.
Friday 11th April – the Goose Club raffle will be drawn at 7.00pm – tickets are $1 each with 15+ prizes to be won.
Tickets can be purchased from the bar or bought on the night.
The members draw will be conducted after the Goose Club draw – members must be present at the draw to claim the cash.
Live entertainment on Friday evening will be provided by Bradz Rock N Rhythm.
So come down to the Club for a great night out with the chance to win some cash and raffle prizes.
The Bistro will be operating on a full menu, so come along and try something from the new menu.

Thursday 3.04.2025: Oyster and Fee’s Day
Yah! It’s finally happened, the sky cleared, (well to be honest it did look a little threatening at times!) and we got to have an afternoon of bowls!
What a lovely afternoon it was too, let out of our cages for the first time in over a week all bowlers were out to enjoy themselves, and enjoy ourselves we did!
Thanks to Oyster and Fiona for organising the afternoon and to all who stayed and enjoyed a meal together, it was fun!

Another fabulous afternoon out on our green, numbers were down with players away playing in the Wide Bay challenge.

What a day we had today, semi finals in both the Ladies and Men’s Pairs, as well as social paddle pop draw triples!
Ladies Pairs: A win to Jane Herd-Evans and Fiona Dowling over Marilyn Mullins and Glen Cherry.
A win to Meridth Taylor and Rhonda Byrnes over Beth Clarke-Coolee and Judi Barrett.
Mens Pairs: A win to Keith Sleep and Maurie Strano over Wayne Reis and Robbie Byrnes.
A win to Trevor Christensen and Robbie Hannah over Clinton Dowling and David Mollison.
The final of both these competitions will be played next weekend, possibly on Saturday…..will keep you informed….both will be games well worth watching!
