CQUniversity’s Regional Arts Services Network, in partnership with Bundaberg Regional Council, will hold a networking event to explore the important impact artificial intelligence (Ai) has on the arts industry.

Connecting Creatives: Ai in Arts Practice will feature a panel of guest speakers who will share how they use Ai in their arts practice and in the day-to-day running of their creative businesses.

CQUniversity’s Regional Arts Manager Trudie Leigo said that the fast-paced development of Ai is both disrupting and enhancing workplaces across the globe.

“What we want to explore is what does this mean for the arts industry,” Trudie said.

“Is Ai an opportunity or a threat to the arts?”

Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about how Ai can be a creative tool and what risks to be aware of when using it.

The evening’s conversation will feature a variety of guest speakers, who are working across various art forms.

Speakers include:

  • Luiz Da Cunha – producer, DJ and sound engineer, Lit Studios
  • Andy Knight, Director of Knights Creative
  • Stephen Harris, Information Services Librarian, Bundaberg Regional Council
  • Ren Stevens, Visual Artist and Digital Project Officer, Bundaberg Regional Council

“It’s going to be a very stimulating conversation and a great opportunity for creatives to meet and connect with others in their community,” Trudie said.

“It’s really important that we all stay abreast of the technology available to us.

“I’m sure we are all going to walk away with new ideas of how to use Ai to our advantage.”

Connecting Creatives: Ai in Arts Practice is a free event and everyone is welcome to attend.

Refreshments will be served and registrations are essential.
