
The Young People in Sport (YPIS) Program supports young local athletes in the Bundaberg Region by providing up to $200 to assist with the costs of representing Queensland or Australia at National or International sporting competitions.
Applications to the YPIS Program are open all year round (and remain open until budgeted funds are exhausted) but must be submitted prior to the commencement of the sporting competition.
Who can apply:
Bundaberg Regional Council based not-for-profit sporting organisations where:
- the athlete is a member of the local sporting organisation.
- the athlete is under the age of 18 years at the date the competition commences.
- the athlete resides within the Bundaberg Regional Council boundaries.
- the athlete has been selected to represent Queensland at a National Sporting competition or Australia at an International Sporting competition.
As per the YPIS guidelines, athletes selected for school – based competitions are ineligible to receive funding.

Applications to the Young People in Sport (YPIS) Program can be submitted via SmartyGrants. Evidence documenting proof of the athlete’s age and proof of selection for representing Queensland or Australia must be provided in the application.
