In celebration of International Cochlear Implant Day on February 25, Bundaberg Hearing will be hosting a community information event and implant candidacy evaluations to the Bundaberg and Wide Bay community.

These bulk-billed MED-EL cochlear implant mapping appointments are a new service and will help individuals with hearing loss reconnect with sound and improve their quality of life.

While it’s estimated that over 700,000 people worldwide have benefited from cochlear implants, many more could still gain from this life-changing technology.

Bundaberg Hearing Audiologist and Director Sarah Waldock said celebrating Cochlear Implant Day would help raise awareness and encourage more people to learn about how cochlear implants can make a significant difference in their lives.

“International Cochlear Implant Day is a wonderful opportunity to not only celebrate the technology behind cochlear implants but also the positive changes they bring to individuals and families,” Sarah said.

“We’re excited to offer these vital services to our local community and ensure everyone has access to the support they need to thrive.”

Bundaberg Hearing is an independent and locally-owned hearing care provider, dedicated to helping people of all ages improve their hearing and quality of life.

The clinic offers a range of general and specialised hearing services, including cochlear implant mapping, hearing aid fittings, auditory processing disorder assessments, and wax micro suctioning.

Residents of Bundaberg and the surrounding Wide Bay region can contact Bundaberg Hearing for more information or for any other hearing-related inquiries.
