Little library lovers looking for an adventure for their favourite toy can register to drop them off at the Bundaberg Library for their very own Toy Sleepover.
Taking place on Tuesday 25 February, children aged six and younger are invited to sign their cuddly companion in at the library counter to stay overnight and have some fun.
The toys can be collected the next day along with a booklet documenting all the mischief they got up to on their night away.
Bundaberg Regional Council’s Arts, Heritage and Asset Management portfolio spokesperson Councillor John Learmonth said the sleepover was another delightful initiative made possible by the First 5 Forever program.
“First 5 Forever focuses on supporting families to build strong foundations with their young children in those all-important first five years of development,” Cr Learmonth said.
“While this involves talking, reading and singing it is also very much about play and what better way to spark imagination and have a little fun than by seeing what your toy does when you’re not looking?
“Of course, I can’t say exactly what they’ll get up to but I hear there will be some reading, playing and exploring going on and I hope they also all get some sleep!
“The children can enjoy finding out more when they collect their toys the next day and this is also a great way for parents to open up those imaginative conversations.”

The Toy Sleepover at the Library is a drop off and pick up event for toys only with bookings required here.
First 5 Forever is an initiative of the Queensland Government, coordinated by State Library of Queensland and delivered in partnership with local government.
