Registrations for this year’s Clean Up Australia Day are now open with school teams, businesses, community groups and individuals urged to sign up to tackle litter and waste.
Last year saw the highest number of Clean Up Australia Day registrations in the Bundaberg Region, with 49 groups, beating the record set in 2023 of 38 groups.

Register now or join a local Clean Up Australia Day team at cleanup.org.au.
Volunteers receive a free Clean Up kit, containing gloves and bags and other resources, with packs for individuals, families and community groups available.
Bundaberg Regional Council also supports Clean Up Australia Day by offering assistance to groups which register for an event.
This assistance may include:
- help with waste collection/disposal
- wavering of disposal fees
- supplying a limited number of additional gloves or clean-up bags

Join Council’s clean up event
Bundaberg Regional Council’s Natural Areas team and is hosting a clean up event with Yourtown trainees at Queens Park.
As a proud Reef Guardian Council—an initiative of the Reef Authority—the team is committed to delivering real, positive impacts for the Great Barrier Reef.
This clean-up is part of Council’s Waterways Rubbish Removal Program, focused on stopping waste from entering the Burnett River and turning into harmful marine debris.
The event is open to the public, with registrations available here.

Time: 9 am to 10.30 am
Where: Queens Park, 29 Quay Street
Please wear enclosed shoes, dress for the sun, and bring your re-usable water bottle. Gloves, rubbish bags, grabbers, and extra water will be provided.
