Azra Dogan, a Year 9 student at Kepnock State High School, has been awarded the prestigious Harding Miller Education Foundation Scholarship, recognising her exceptional academic potential and dedication.
This scholarship is designed to support high-achieving young women in Australian public high schools who are experiencing socio-economic hardship.
The Harding Miller Education Foundation, established in 2015, aims to provide practical support to lift the educational and career aspirations of high-potential Australian girls facing socio-economic challenges.
The scholarship offers a comprehensive ‘toolkit’ valued at approximately $20,000 over four years, including:
- A new laptop
- High-speed internet access
- Face-to-face and online tutoring
- Subject and career guidance
- Mentoring
- Financial support for school expenses such as uniforms and books
This support is intended to provide scholars with the resources they need to achieve their academic goals and pursue tertiary education.
Azra’s achievement follows in the footsteps of previous Kepnock State High School students who have been recognized by the Foundation.
In 2020, Year 9 student Shania White was also awarded the Harding Miller Education Foundation scholarship, highlighting the school’s commitment to fostering academic excellence among its students.
The Harding Miller Education Foundation has supported over 1,200 students across 350 public schools in Australia since its inception.
The Foundation’s mission is to create a positive social impact by lifting educational outcomes of high-potential Australian girls currently experiencing hardship.
