The Bundaberg to Gin Gin Rail Trail Development Committee will hold a public information session for community members interested to learn more about the rail trail project.

The session will be held on Monday, 17 February at 6.30 pm in the auditorium at CQUniversity.

The free event is open to all members of the public interested in hearing more, sharing ideas, or wanting to get involved in the construction of the trail.

The event hosted by the newly established Rail Trail Development Committee will feature mapping and rough plans, a representative from the Department of Transport and Main Roads, a Q&A panel and more.

Rail Trail Development Committee President Martin Kelly said the event will be the first time locals will be able to share their thoughts and ideas on the project.

“The Bundaberg to Gin Gin Rail Trail will be one of the biggest community-led projects in the region and we want the community to be involved every step of the way,” Martin said.

“We would encourage anyone interested to come along to this free event to find out more.

We’re really looking forward to working collaboratively with many members of the community and local businesses on this.”

The project has in-principle support from the Bundaberg Regional Council and financial backing from the Department of Transport and Main Roads.

Event updates can be found on the Rail Trail’s Facebook page.
