A variety of healthy grab-and-go options are on the menu at new business Sip it Silly, located in Bundaberg North.
Owners Bianca Petersen and Joe Mckay shared all of the details about their latest business venture:
What inspired you to start a food business?
I have recently left my career in childcare management to focus on our family businesses.
A few years ago, I started a food trailer called ‘Hot Diggity Dog’ and after enjoying that so much it was time to make my dream bigger and turn it into a store.
Why did you choose Bundaberg North as the location for your business?
It has a very special place in my heart as this is where I grew up.
I moved back over northside with Joe and our children and we opened up The Laundry Lounge Bundaberg.
We now have three businesses and really enjoy connecting with the community.
The Laundry Lounge is a place for people, including families to come and relax in the aircon.
We have a kid’s area and lounges to make a daily chore relaxing.
Ask Joe Sheds is expanding right before our eyes.
Now that we have an office, Joe can meet with his customers, go over their quotes and make their dreams a reality right in front of them, whilst also enjoying a coffee from next door.
What are some of the most popular items on the Sip It Silly menu?
Chicken Caesar salad, grazing bowls, silly shakes and a healthy range of grab-and-go items for families on the run or tradies on their way to work.
We are hoping to be able to cater for everyone.

Do you have plans to expand the menu in the future?
We will be introducing night time eventually with certain nights a week allocated to specific things, such as shake ‘n’ dog night, American burgers and loaded fries.
The burgers will include ‘a big Joe’ burger which will be aimed at people who love their meat.
Sip it Silly sources produce locally and supports small businesses where we can in the Bundaberg Region.
What has been the feedback from the community?
We have had an overwhelming amount of people coming to support us.
It is great to already see some regulars and friendly faces.
I can’t thank everyone enough for supporting local.
Where are you located and how can the community find out more?
We are located at 4 Queen Street, Bundaberg North.
People can find out more via our Facebook Page.
