Get ready to jingle all the way to a skipping, dancing, and singing extravaganza as Cleveland Air Magic, the world-famous skipping team, bring their Christmas production to Bundaberg.

The World Champion skippers will present their holiday-themed musical, Don’t Skip Christmas: The Importance of Elf Esteem, on Saturday 7 December, followed by a skipping workshop open to all primary school aged students on Sunday 8 December.

Don’t Skip Christmas

This year, the team has combined their skipping skills with acting, singing, and dancing to create a holiday musical like no other.

The unique show promises to be a sleigh-load of fun for the entire family, complete with corny jokes, dazzling performances, and catchy rhymes!

It tells the story of a young elf who endeavours to save Christmas for Santa, the angels and the elves from the Grinch and his evil elves.

The show, written and directed by Cleveland Air Magic’s head coach Carolyn Barker, is a high-energy production with an important message about believing in yourself and spreading holiday cheer.

“The idea behind Don’t Skip Christmas is to show off our team’s incredible talent while sharing a message about self-esteem and the magic of the holidays,” Carolyn said.

“The goal of the show is to raise funds for Cleveland Air Magic members who have qualified to represent Australia at the World Rope Skipping Championships in Japan next year.

“It’s a fantastic way to bring people together and support a great cause.”

The show will display some amazing gymnastics, multiple unders and rope manipulation all carefully choreographed to upbeat Christmas songs.

Skipping sensation Luke Boon, the most decorated skipper in the world as a 72 time world champion and current world record holder, stars as the Grinch in a hilariously heart-warming role.

Carolyn, a primary school teacher at Cleveland State Primary School, started the Cleveland Air Magic 26 years ago, and it has since become a global phenomenon, boasting multiple world champions, world record holders, and national champions.

“The sport of skipping crosses over several disciplines of speed and freestyle in both single rope and double dutch events,” Carolyn said.

“Audiences will have the chance to see world-class skippers perform breathtaking tricks, all while enjoying the show’s heart-warming holiday storyline.”

While in the Bundaberg Region, Cleveland Air Magic will host a skipping skills workshop open to all primary school aged children.

Workshop participants can hone their skipping skills with hands-on, expert advice and tips from Cleveland Air Magic’s World Champion Skipping Team including Luke Boon.
