Bundaberg business owners Robert and Karina Jarrett are igniting the spirit of Christmas once again by donating 500 candles to the A Moore Park Beach Christmas event.
With the big day less than a month away and the cost-of-living pressures continuing to pinch, the Battery World Bundaberg team is determined to help lift the spirits of the community by continuing its annual festive donation to carollers.
Moore Park Beach Arts Inc President Trish Mears said she was grateful for the contribution to the jolly event that had consistently done its best to help bring the community together.
“A Moore Park Beach Christmas is a popular Christmas community event in the Bundaberg region, and we are expecting the event to be bigger and better than ever, with Christmas Carols and other stage entertainment from 4 pm to 8 pm, Christmas markets, food stalls, fireworks, camel rides, a sand modelling competition and, of course, a visit from Santa,” she said.
“We are extremely appreciative that Battery World Bundaberg are donating candles again this year and Robert and Karina’s contribution will surely make Christmas extra special for our community.
“If it weren’t for Battery World Bundaberg and their generosity, we wouldn’t be able to bring that extra cheer and are extremely grateful to work alongside the team.”
Robert has seen first-hand how much the community values coming together at this time of the year to celebrate the festivities and is grateful to be able to help make a difference.
“We wanted to play our part in helping the community come together and enjoy a night of celebration,” he said.
“We have been attending and donating candles at the Moore Park Beach Christmas event for the past six years and it gives us all a great opportunity to get out and get amongst the fun.
“There’s something about the joy on the little kids’ faces, mingling, and good old’ fashion banter with some of the regular customers that makes this event so much fun each year. We hope to be a part of the event for many more years to come.”
A Moore Park Beach Christmas will be held on Sunday, 15 December from 4 pm to 8 pm on the oval behind Moore Park Beach Community Centre, Club Avenue, Moore Park Beach.
