Build, Foster and Challenge will be the theme of the day at the Wide Bay-Burnett Diversity and Inclusion Forum.
Taking place on 27 November, the event is hosted by Bundaberg Regional Council and brings together diverse voices to promote a more inclusive and accessible community.
The forum will feature speakers who are leaders in the diversity, equity, and inclusion space, as well as individuals sharing their lived experiences.
Community Resilience and Connection portfolio spokesperson Cr Tracey McPhee said attendees could expect to gain practical insights and case-based knowledge that would enhance their understanding of current issues.
“Bundaberg is a growing and diversifying region, therefore it’s important to promote access and engagement for all,” Cr McPhee said.
“This forum is a unique opportunity for community members to educate themselves, adjust attitudes and learn how to celebrate our differences.
“We want to open dialogue and encourage action-oriented solutions that empower and encourage everyone to contribute to our community.”
The Wide Bay-Burnett Diversity and Inclusion Forum will include a variety of sessions designed to actively engage participants.
“Workshops will focus on skill-building and will encourage attendees to challenge both themselves and their communities,” Cr McPhee said.
“By providing a platform for discussion and collaboration, this forum aims to equip individuals with the tools they need to make a meaningful impact.”
The event will include break out workshops, keynote speakers and panel discussion.

at $100 per head, does not sound too inclusive. a pensioner can’t afford that. those with an ABN can write this off as a tax deduction. not really suitable for pensioners at all. there was discussion in Brisbane a while back about “inclusive” and what it meant. Only if you agree with us, exclusion does arise.
