Families with young children are invited to spend their Saturday mornings at the library with free playtime sessions taking place in November.
Bundaberg Library will host four sessions of self-guided play from 9 to 11 am, starting on 9 November.
The Playtime @ the Library sessions will take place with the support of First 5 Forever, a play-based program supporting Queensland families to talk, read, sing and play with their young children.
Bundaberg Regional Councilβs Arts, Heritage and Asset Management portfolio spokesperson Cr John Learmonth said the initiative was a great way for young families to spend time together.
βWe love to see families making the most of everything on offer in the library and this is a wonderful way to include our youngest community members as well,β Cr Learmonth said.
βThe First 5 Forever program highlights how important play is to a childβs development and so we are excited to create a special space suitable for children to explore with the adults in their life.
βEach Saturday play experience will be different so families can simply focus on playing and having fun with their children.β
The Playtime @ the Library sessions cater to children under the age of six and are free to attend with no bookings required.
Please note that library staff will be on hand to assist but will not be providing direct supervision.
