COMPETITION

Members are asked to check the Competition draws and arrange games by mutual agreement where possible. Competitions can now be played on a Sunday on QRI Bowls days. The next two QRI Sundays are Sunday 27^th October & Sunday 3^rd November. (Green will be cut & rolled if 3 or more games are played). If arranging a game, please let the GD know.

Competition Results: B Grade Fours FINAL: Congratulations to Warren Downey, Josh Gott, Greg Jackson and Dave Carson for winning the B Grade Fours Final on Saturday afternoon. It was a very close game with the scores locked at 14-14 after 15 ends and 16-16 at 17 ends. The opposing team of Jason Hall, Theo Poelstra, Glen Hayes and Ted Barker scored 3 shots on the 20^th end to lead 20 -18 with 1 end to play, however, they dropped 3 shots on the final end to lose the match 20-21. Congratulations to both teams for playing such a great game and making it a worthy final. Well done fellas!

Just a reminder that when you are playing in Club Competitions, you must be in full Club uniform which includes shorts/trousers.

ANDERSON SHIELD

Congratulations to the Burnett team for making the Final on Sunday afternoon. Burnett defeated the strong Bargara team in the semi-final 38-33 only to lose the final to the Waves team 44-34. Thank you to the following Burnett players for representing the Club so well and narrowly missing the trophy. Burnett team: Malcolm Juillerat, Cameron Walker, Kyle Franks, Mark Mizzi, Gino Mizzi, Daniel Stanton-Cook, Darryl Austin and Keith Whalley. Great effort fellas!

Tuesday 8^th October: 50/50 Day – where 50 percent of the green fees for the day is returned as prizemoney. Open 3 bowl Pairs (27 ends) – Men’s, Ladies, Mixed. Names in by 12pm, green fees paid by 12.30pm for a 1 pm start.

Wednesday 9^th October: ‘Scroungers’ Singles – has been put on hold until further notice.

Thursday 10^th October: Free Coaching/Practice Drills has been cancelled this week due to the unavailability of the organizers. The session will be back on next Thursday the 17^th of October.

Thursday 10^th October: Night Bowls – bowls start at 6.30pm, names in by 6pm. Bowl under lights and enjoy a fun filled night with a chance at the ‘Pick the Joker’ Jackpot which will be $579+ this week. Visitors and those that want to try bowls for the first time will be made to feel very welcome.

CLUB NEWS 

Club opening hours: Monday (Club closed), Tuesday 10am – 5.30pm, Wednesday 11.00am – 9.30pm, Thursday 2.00pm – 9.30pm, Friday 10.00am – 9.30pm, Saturday 10.00am – 6pm (10pm for Functions) Sunday Bowls Days 9am – 2.00pm.

The Goose Club raffle will be drawn on Friday night 11^th October at 7pm – Tickets are $1 each and can be purchased during the week from the Bar staff or on Friday night. There are 15 great prizes to be won – you need to be in it to win it! Proceeds from the raffle help to support your Club.

The Member’s Draw will also be held on Friday night 11^th October and stands at $70, so come along, have a meal and a few drinks with the chance to win some great cash and prizes.

There will be live entertainment on Friday 11^th October presented by ‘Old Habits’ and the following Friday 18^th October entertainment will be provided by ‘The Other Bloke’. Members, Guests, and Visitors are always welcome.
