Whether it’s a young leader, a dedicated senior or a passionate group the Bundaberg Regional Council’s 2025 Australia Day Awards shine a spotlight on those who go above and beyond to enrich the region.

Nominations are now open, offering the perfect opportunity to celebrate the local heroes who help shape the community, and can now be submitted online up until 5 December.

The awards will be held in January 2025 with several categories open for nominations:

Young Citizen of the Year Award

Open to nominees aged 25 years or younger on January 26, 2024, this award celebrates outstanding young residents who have shown excellence and leadership in their contributions to the community.

Senior Citizen of the Year Award

Recognising the vital role of seniors aged 65 years or older, this award honours those who continue to contribute to the community through their involvement, commitment, and knowledge sharing.

Community Group of the Year Award

This award acknowledges significant contributions by community groups or non-profit organisations that have enhanced the welfare of people, quality of life, or the arts, sciences, and environment within the Bundaberg Region.
