Community to Connect4Wellbeing

Connect4Wellbeing Queensland Mental Health Week
Community members are invited to enjoy live music, giant yard games, art and self-care activities to kick start Queensland Mental Health Week at Connect4Wellbeing in BRAG Park.

Come along and enjoy live music, giant yard games, art and self-care activities at Connect4Wellbeing to kick start Queensland Mental Health Week.

Running from October 5 to 13, Bundaberg Regional Council will host free Connect4Wellbeing activities across the week to help shine a light on mental health and wellbeing.

Connect4Wellbeing in Bundaberg will be a stand-alone event, whereas Childers and Gin Gin will hold activities in conjunction with the local community markets.

Community Resilience and Connection portfolio spokesperson Cr Tracey McPhee said the community events would help foster social inclusion, belonging and connection in the local community.

“Queensland Mental Health Week will see the Bundaberg Region come alive with activities promoting mental health and wellbeing,” Cr McPhee said.

“Mental health is a crucial aspect of overall wellbeing, and these activities aim to create spaces where everyone can feel included and supported.

“We’re focusing on connecting people in our community, including those who are socially, digitally, or physically isolated.

“Council’s goal is to build community through meaningful engagement.”

Community members will have the opportunity to learn about self-care toolkits and connect informally with mental health professionals.

“We invite everyone to come along and join in these engaging and supportive activities,” Cr McPhee said.

“Together, we can build a stronger, more connected community.”

The Bundaberg Connect4Wellbeing event is supported by Bundaberg Regional Council, Richmond Fellowship Queensland, Phoenix House, Bridges, Brave Brothers, Lifeline and Wide Bay Mental Health and Specialised Service.
