Award-winning Brisbane pianist Max Foster will begin his homecoming tour in the region next month, performing for one night only at Christ Church Bundaberg.

The musician is returning home to Queensland after valuable time spent in the United States prestigious music halls of Juilliard School, Yale University and Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University.

The “Max Foster Homecoming Tour” will be held across six intimate locations in September and early October, providing an opportunity for audiences to witness Foster’s virtuosic skills in an up close setting.

The one-show only solo piano concert tour commences in Bundaberg and then plays Brisbane, Gold Coast, Toowoomba, Stanthorpe, with the finale to be held in Townsville in October.

“It is my delight to be back in Queensland, the place where love for music was born and nurtured for so long,” Max said.

“The program I am presenting illuminates darkness, and centres around feelings and images related to darkness, to night and to mystery.

“As I explore it with the audience, I hope they can gain and insight into my experience of darkness, as well as learn a bit about their own.”

The thrilling program will feature masterpieces such as Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata and including works by Debussy, Schubert, and more.

Max has performed with major orchestras in Australia, at Hamer Hall, the Sydney Opera House, the Perth Concert Hall, and the Queensland Performing Arts Centre.

He has also performed at international venues including Carnegie Hall, New York and Wigmore Hall, London.

His performance will be held at Christ Church Bundaberg on Sunday 15 September at 3pm.
