The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs brought plenty of excitement to Bundaberg recently.

The successful delivery of Round 24 of the NRL season in Bundaberg was a significant win for the region, drawing more than 6,000 passionate fans to Salter Oval recently.

Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs continued their winning streak against the Redcliffe Dolphins on Saturday, 17 August, with the boys in blue taking down their opponent 30 – 10.

The game was part of a three-year deal with Bundaberg Regional Council and the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, which began in 2022 and forms part of the NRL Telstra Premiership Footy Country Series.

Sport and Recreation portfolio spokesperson Cr Carmen McEneany said the event’s impact on the local economy had been substantial.

  1. Hopefully the Bulldogs will continue playing a round at Salter Oval for many years to come. All parties involved have done a magnificent job. It would be tragic for everyone if it’s not continue.

  2. Absolutely marvellous yearly event for Bundy region. Great publicity for the City of Bundaberg and wonderful for the Community, especially the local school kids. Well done all involved and keep up the good work. Bundaberg and region is a very special place.
