Oceanfest Bundaberg set to make a splash

Oceanfest Bundaberg
Oceanfest Bundaberg events in previous years had attracted more than 10,000 attendees.

Oceanfest Bundaberg is set to make a splash as it returns better than ever on 24 August at the picturesque Port Marina precinct in Burnett Heads.

The community event promises an array of local seafood, produce, and beverages, alongside themed entertainment and diverse attractions for the entire family.

Oceanfest Bundaberg Event Coordinator Chris Foley said the Rotary Club of Bundaberg Sunrise was thrilled to bring the event back again.

“The 2023 event saw an estimated 10,000 people through the gates,” he said.

“(It) raised over $47,000 for various local charitable causes and not for profit organisations and we hope to beat that figure this year.

“Entry is free, but if you would like to donate a gold coin, that will help us continue to support so many of our local charities and not for profit groups.

“Oceanfest cannot run without our generous sponsors and army of passionate volunteers and the response to this year’s event has been so positive, it may just be the biggest one yet!”

Chris said the event was set to be jam packed and would feature live music from country star 8Ball Aitken and local favourites Marah Leigh, Abby Sky and the Batman and MrQ.

Other highlights include market stalls, rides for the kids, colouring competition, the Gladstone Ports Corporation Reef Room will return, Triple M will be broadcasting live, helicopter rides, raffles, a licensed bar, and of course, plenty of seafood and food stalls for all tastes.

He said anyone who would like to take their Oceanfest Bundaberg experience to the next level also had a choice of Marina Marquee Luncheon with Grunske’s providing the highest quality seafood.

Tickets are limited for the Marina Marquee so be quick to avoid disappointment.

“Oceanfest really has something for everyone, and we can’t wait to see you Saturday 24 August,” he said.
