Local fitness providers are invited to express their interest in being part of Council’s upcoming Be Active Be Alive program with applications open now.

Local providers interested in helping to deliver Bundaberg Regional Council’s free fitness sessions can apply to be part of the Be Active Be Alive program starting in October.

The popular free fitness offering sees classes held at locations across the region with Round 2 of the 2024 program running from 7 October to 15 December.

All health and fitness activities are encouraged with the park program kicking off in the first few weeks followed by the pool program.

Community Liveability, Sport and Recreation portfolio spokesperson Cr Carmen McEneany said Be Active Be Alive was a win-win for both the community and fitness providers.

“Not only will providers be helping to encourage a healthy lifestyle for those living in our region but they will also benefit from great class rates and the opportunity to attract new participants to their programs,” Cr McEneany said.

“We are hoping to get a great range of fitness providers on board so we can offer community members a diverse selection of classes.

“This way people can take part in exercise classes they enjoy and maybe also try something new.”

Fitness providers can apply to be part of Be Active Be Alive by filling in an expression of interest form on Council’s website here, with registrations closing on 27 August.

About the program

Initiated by Bundaberg Regional Council in 2012, the award-winning free parks and pools program was commenced with the help of State Government funding.

The Be Active Be Alive program continues to be developed and refined under Council’s ‘Healthy and Active’ charter to provide an inclusive mix of activities across the region’s parks, pools and open spaces.

Fitness class types are dependent on fitness provider registrations.
