IMPACT Community Services has announced the launch of Parenting Pathways, an initiative aimed at providing essential parenting guidance and support to Bundaberg parents and caregivers.
This project, funded by the St John’s Grace Fund, seeks to dismantle barriers such as financial constraints, societal stigma and the fear of judgement that often deter parents from seeking help.
“Parenting Pathways is a significant step forward in providing the support our community needs,” said Nancy Oosterhof, General Manager for Health & Support at IMPACT Community Services.
“We are creating opportunities for parents to build resilience and foster stronger family bonds.
“By featuring our own experienced staff, we’ve made it easier for parents to seek help and gain valuable insights.”
The project features a comprehensive series of informative and engaging videos, covering a wide range of topics including child health services, healthy pregnancy tips, meaningful parent-child interactions, effective parenting strategies, infant sleep safety, self-care for parents and youth mental health.
These videos are now readily accessible on IMPACT’s website.
“Accessibility is key to Parenting Pathways,” said Nancy.
“Our videos include subtitles, allowing parents to watch them at their convenience – whether it’s during late-night feeds or those rare moments of downtime.
“We believe in empowering parents with knowledge and support, free from judgement.
“Through Parenting Pathways, we aim to equip parents with practical skills and confidence, fostering healthier family dynamics and stronger community bonds.”
IMPACT Community Services has been a longstanding pillar of support in the Bundaberg region, providing support to approximately 5000 individuals each year.
The launch of Parenting Pathways highlights our commitment to nurturing a supportive community environment.
This initiative enables IMPACT to achieve its vision of improving lives, working together with the St John’s Grace Fund.
The initiative aims to raise awareness of local support services, enhance parenting skills, boost parental confidence, reduce isolation, and promote overall family well-being – overall improving the lives of local parents and children.
Parents and caregivers can access the Parenting Pathways videos on the dedicated section of IMPACT’s website here.
“The idea for Parenting Pathways came from feedback from our staff who work day-to-day with clients,” Nancy said.
“By leveraging technology, we are providing innovative solutions that make a real difference in the lives of local families.
“We invite all parents and caregivers in Bundaberg to explore Parenting Pathways and share this valuable resource with friends, family, and colleagues.
“By working together, we can create a positive impact on the community, building resilience among families.”
