Help enhance Botanic Gardens through survey

Whether you visit the Bundaberg Botanic Gardens a little or a lot, now is the time to have your say to help shape its future!

A visitor feedback survey aimed at gathering information to help enhance the Bundaberg Botanic Gardens is now available to the community.

Whether you are a frequent guest or a first-timer, Bundaberg Regional Council is encouraging residents and tourists alike to share experiences about the area.

Located in Bundaberg North, the gardens span 27 hectares and offer a lush, tranquil escape with a diverse collection of plants, historical displays, and wildlife.

The area is home to several key attractions, including the Hinkler Hall of Aviation, the Bundaberg and District Historical Museum, and the Bert Hinkler House.

With its picturesque lakes, walking paths, and picnic spots, the Bundaberg Botanic Gardens is a popular destination for both locals and tourists.

Natural Resources and Environment portfolio spokesperson Cr Jason Bartels said the visitor survey highlighted the importance of community input in maintaining and improving the area.

“The Bundaberg Botanic Gardens is a treasured part of our community, providing a beautiful and educational space for everyone to enjoy,” he said.

“We are committed to ensuring that the gardens continue to meet the needs and expectations of our visitors.”

Cr Bartels said the survey was designed to capture a wide range of visitor experiences and suggestions.

“We want to hear from everyone who visits the gardens – what they love, what they think could be improved, and any ideas they have for new features or events,” he said.

“By gathering this feedback, we can make informed decisions about future developments and enhancements.”

Bundaberg Regional Council encourages all visitors to participate in the survey, which is available online here.

Visitors can also take part in the survey by scanning the QR Code on posters at Hinkler Hall of Aviation, Fairymead House, Café 1928, Historical Museum, the information blackboard at the front of the café and in the toilets.

  1. Hi, I am a Tai Chi instructor and love the Botanic Gardens. My students and I often practise Tai Chi there and have often thought how great it would be to have a big undercover area where we could gather and do our exercises and do demonstrations. It would be great to have protection from the rain and sun, so it would need a floor, either concrete or timber and would have to be a decent size. And I’m sure it would be used by lots of other organisations for various events, eg Chinese New Year Celebrations, Senior’s Week etc. Also more parking areas are needed. Many regards and thanks
