Pool upgrades underway in Childers

Isis War Memorial Pool upgrades
Isis War Memorial Pool upgrades have been timed to coincide with the cooler weather and involve replacing the existing swimming pool tiles with a modern fibreglass surface.

Isis War Memorial Pool users will soon be able to make a splash in an upgraded facility after Bundaberg Regional Council completes renovation works.

The pool is currently closed for a series of significant upgrades aimed at enhancing its safety, aesthetics, and lifespan.

The renovation works have been timed to coincide with the cooler weather and involve replacing the existing swimming pool tiles with a modern fibreglass surface.

Bundaberg Regional Council Sport and Recreation portfolio spokesperson Cr Carmen McEneany highlighted the benefits of the pool upgrades for the community.

“Replacing the cracked and damaged tiles with a modern fibreglass surface will significantly enhance the safety of the pool for all users,” she said.

“Not only will the new pool surface be durable, but these upgrades will also give the Isis Memorial Pool a contemporary look.”

Residents can look forward to the revitalised facility when the pool reopens next month on 22 July, pending construction.

The work is being financed through the Isis War Memorial Pool‘s renewal funds.
