The picturesque setting of Lake Redbrook will come alive as it transforms into an open-air concert hall for Opera by the Lake as part of this year’s Childers Festival.
The highly successful event will have guests witness the serene banks of the Lake Redbrook transform into a beautiful, picnic-style affair with performances by Mark Vincent and Bundaberg’s own Suellen Cusack.
As one of country’s most beloved tenors, Mark is set to entertain eventgoers as the sun sets over the countryside at Childers.
At the young age of 15, Mark stepped onto the set of Australia’s Got Talent and stunned the nation with his powerful and emotive rendition of Puccini’s, Nessun Dorma.
Mark’s incredible voice, mature beyond its years, captured the hearts of people all over Australia and internationally.
He has performed in concert with recording artist Susan Boyle and has also toured and recorded with Australia’s leading lady of the theatre, Marina Prior.
As a local singer Suellen said it was the first time she would perform at the iconic Childers Festival and was looking forward to sharing the experience.
“I’ll be performing some of the most beautiful arias for a lyric soprano,” Suellen said.
“Arias that the audience will know, love and recognise, with a few absolutely beautiful duets with Mark.
“It is the first time I’ve performed for the Childers Festival and I couldn’t think of a more perfect experience to debut there.”
Suellen said after an incredible two years, which included releasing two number 1 ARIA albums, she couldn’t resist the opportunity to perform locally alongside Mark.
“I’m very much so looking forward to performing with Mark,” she said.
“He has such a beautiful sound it will be a privilege to perform with him.”
While listening to these beautiful voices, Opera by the Lake participants will also be treated to a local wine or two and other refreshments in a picnic-style set up with perfect views of Lake Redbrook.
